Millions of computers were infected with a computer virus set to shut down your computer on July 9. Fortunately  the virus was detected by the FBI and arrests were made.  If you are running a virus checker program that has been updated within the past month you should be safe.

Thus there’s no need for alarm. There are estimates of 250,000 infected systems based on data from various security groups. There are about 2,000,000,000 internet users. So about 0.01% of internet users are infected. In other words: Very few.
